NAGARAJA RAO M.S.

Mirle Srinivasa Nagaraja Rao is a well known archaeologist of Karnataka. He has done yeoman work related to prehistoric Karnataka as also the Vijayanagara Empire and the Chalukyas of Badami. After obtaining a master’s degree from the University of Mysore he joined the Archaeological Survey of India. He served there for a long duration before retiring as the Director General of A.S.I. His pioneering work at the archaeological sites such as ‘piklihALu’, ‘tekkalakOTe’, ‘haLLUr and Vijayanagara have yilded a wealth of material. ‘Sri Nagabhinandanam’ is the felicitation volume presented to M.S.Nagaraja Rao.
