K.V.
Ramesh (ramEsh ke.vi.) (ಕೆ.ವಿ.ರಮೇಶ್) is one of the leading epigraphists of India. He joined the epigraphy branch of the
Archaeological Survey of India in 1956. He rose to the position of Chief
Epigraphist in 1981 and became the Director (Epigraphy) in 1984. He was
promoted as the Joint Director General in 1992 and occupied that
position till his retirement in 1993.
He
under took many important projects during his tenure in the A.S.I. and a number
of publications provide sufficient proof of his scholarship, hard work and rigor. He has edited the
volumes 41 and 42 of the Epigraphia Indica. Some of his important publications

Chhabra and G.S. Dikshit.
